1. The Core Principle: Data Separation

To protect your privacy, our platform completely splits your data into two isolated, independent databases that do not talk to each other:

The Identity Database: Contains your encrypted email and password. This is used strictly to log you into the application and process your subscription billing.

The Reflection Database: Contains your daily relationship slider scores and text entries. This database does not contain your name, email, or any identifying account details. It assigns you a randomized, anonymous code to link your data to your partner's app layout.

Even in the event of a security breach, your personal reflections cannot be traced back to your real-world identity.

2. Information We Collect

We intentionally minimize the amount of data we collect:

• Account Credentials: Encrypted email addresses and password hashes for authentication purposes.
• Relationship Metrics: Daily numerical entries regarding connection, personal stress, and communication levels.
• Text Reflections: Short, daily appreciation notes written to your partner.
• Billing Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or bank details. Stripe only passes an anonymous verification token back to our app to unlock your subscription.

3. Data Retention & Automatic Scrubbing

We do not hoard your personal reflections.

The 30-Day Text Scrub: To further protect your privacy, all typed text within your daily appreciation logs is permanently deleted from our servers after 30 days.

Historical Charts: We retain only your numerical slider data over time so that you and your partner can view long-term relationship trends on your dashboard charts.

4. No Third-Party Sharing or Advertising

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
• We do not use third-party data tracking or targeted advertising networks.
• Your data is used exclusively to populate the private dashboard shared between you and your linked partner.

5. Professional & Clinical Disclaimer

Cupples Connect is a self-guided educational wellness tool. While designed by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), use of this application does not constitute, replace, or simulate clinical therapy, medical treatment, or professional mental health services. No Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA is collected or processed by this platform.

6. User Responsibilities

Because our system is fully anonymized, we ask that you protect your own privacy by not typing real names, exact physical locations, or highly specific identifying details into your daily text reflection boxes.
